MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (0-6, 0-4 CC) was defeated by the University of Mount Olive (5-3, 2-1 CC) by a score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at Amon Field.

THE MATCH
After a pair of first-half goals gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead the break, Erskine responded well to start the second half. In the 49th minute,
Benjamin Martinez scored his first goal and cut the UMO lead in half, giving the Fleet a way back into the match. But, Mount Olive scored twice in the ensuing six minutes before adding a pair of late goals as they took down Erskine, 6-1.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Mount Olive 23 to 7, and the Trojans had an 18 to 4 advantage in shots on target.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Flying Fleet return home as they continue conference play on Wednesday against Belmont Abbey College (1-4-2, 0-1-2 CC) at 7:30 p.m. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in Belmont last season on a 79th-minute equalizer from
Toni Neuvonen.
