BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (0-5, 0-3 CC) was defeated by King University (2-2-2, 1-1-1 CC) by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Parks Field.

THE MATCH
Despite outshooting the Tornado 7 to 6 in the first half, Erskine was unable to find a breakthrough as the King goalie tallied three saves in the opening period. Then, against the run of play, the hosts scored the opening goal in the 44th minute and took a 1-0 halftime lead. The Fleet continued to dominate chances in the second half as well but were denied four more times by a resilient Tornado goalkeeper. Meanwhile, King scored twice in 7 minutes in the middles stages of the second half as the Fleet fell 3-0.

Erskine outshot King 18 to 13, while King held a narrow 9 to 7 advantage in shots on target.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Flying Fleet stay on the road this weekend when they take on the University of Mount Olive (3-3, 1-1 CC) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Erskine has won 7 of the previous 12 meetings, but UMO defeated the Fleet 5-0 last season.
