AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Erskine College men's golf team began their 2022 fall season with a solid showing in the Bearcat Fall Invitational over the past two days.
Tom Bastow led the Fleet individually at even 216 (70-69-77), finishing in 8th place. As a team, Erskine finished tied for 6th with Clayton State with a score of 889 (300-290-299) over three rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club.

BEARCAT FALL INVITATIONAL
- The 54-hole event, hosted by Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. is a three-day tournament.
- The course played to a par of 72.
- The field consists of 15 teams along with 9 individuals, for a total of 84 participants.
*Meifels competed as an individual in the event.
CONFERENCE CAROLINAS FINISHES:
Barton College (291-302-297=890 - 8th)
Belmont Abbey College (298-304-307=909 - 12th)
King University (308-306-306=920 - 14th)
THE FIELD
North Georgia claimed the title with a three-under par performance in the final round, earning them a 2-stroke victory over Georgia Southwestern. Will Chambless led the Nighthawks in the final round with a four-under 68 while Noah Zediker won the individual honors behind an impressive six-under 66 in round 2 as he finished with a 210 (72-66-72). Evan Thompson, along with Chambless, also posted a top six finish for North Georgia.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet continue their fall season next week in the University of North Georgia Mizuno Intercollegiate on September 19 and 20 in Gainesville, Ga.
