HOW IT HAPPENED
Impending weather later in the day in Wilson moved up the start time of this opening round game to the early afternoon and Barton, the hosts of the tournament, took an early lead with a bloop RBI single in the first inning. But, the Fleet offense battled right back in the bottom half of the opening frame.
Kyle Marti rolled a leadoff single back up the middle and scored a few batters later thanks to a two-run home run from
Christian Rivera, his twelfth big fly of the season, that gave Erskine a 2-1 lead after just one inning. But, the day belonged to the Bulldogs as their offensive continued to strike throughout the afternoon, ending Erskine's season in the opening round of the conference tournament.
THE PLAYER
Christian Rivera hit a two-run home run in the first inning.
