CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (1-1) earned its first win of the 2022 season, knocking off Johnson & Wales University (3-2) by a score of 58-52 at the JWU Wildcat Center on Friday night. Alexis Burce led the Fleet offense with 17 points on 4 threes, and the Erskine defense closed strong, holding the Wildcats to just four points in the fourth quarter of a come-from-behind win.

Erskine shot 30% (18-61) from the field and 17% (5-30) from the three-point line. The Fleet were 74% (17-23) from the free throw line and were +10 in the turnover department, forcing 24 Wildcat turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT?Â
Erskine begins conference play on the road against King University (0-3) on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. The Fleet went toe-to-toe with the Tornado in their last visit to Bristol, but a game-winning three-pointer with 11 seconds left gave King the win back in January of last season.
