SALISBURY, N.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (0-4) was defeated by Catawba College (3-1) by a score of 106-87 in their opening game of the Catawba Classic at Goodman Gym on Friday night. Aisaiah Phillips' 18 points led five Erskine players who scored in double figures, while Jaylen Prioleau (12 points, 11 rebounds) added a double-double.

Erskine shot 55% (34-62) from the field and 30% (6-20) from the three-point line. The Fleet were 81% (13-16) from the free throw line, but were undone by 10 Indians threes in the second half after they went into the break with a 3-point lead.

Erskine wraps up play in the Catawba Classic against Young Harris College (3-0) on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. This will be the first ever meeting between the Fleet and the Mountain Lions.
