HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Barton took advantage of a Fleet turnover on the opening drive, but Erskine blocked the ensuing extra point attempt and Zacoyeis Elmore ran it back for 2 points for the Fleet, making it a 6-2 game. The Bulldogs found the endzone again later in the quarter and led 13-2 after the first 15 minutes.

Second Quarter:
Jaelan Harfield picked off the Barton QB on the very first play of the second quarter, but the Fleet were forced to punt on the following drive, and the Bulldogs added a field goal on its next drive, extending its lead to 16-2. But, Erskine responded as Trevarus Walker and Justin Wilson each had big receptions, before Kevon Catoe punched it into the endzone as the Fleet cut the deficit in half, 16-9. Erskine successfully recovered a surprise onside kick on the ensuing kickoff, and Catoe took the next play 49 yards to the house as the Fleet snatched momentum, now trailing just 16-15. But, Barton answered with a long kickoff return before scoring a few plays later, making it 23-15 at the half in what was a hectic second quarter.

Third Quarter:
After closing the gap to just a point in the closing stages of the second quarter, Barton built on the momentum from their touchdown right before, outscoring the Fleet 21 to 0 in the quarter and opening up a 44-15 lead.

Fourth Quarter:
Davontae Gadson forced a fumble on the third play of the fourth quarter, and the Fleet cashed on in the turnover as Bryce Jeffcoat ran it into the endzone from 5 yards out. But, Barton answered with a touchdown of its own on the next possession, as they defeated the Fleet in a shootout, 51-22.
