SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (1-11-1, 1-10-1 CC) was defeated by conference-leading Converse University (10-1-2, 8-0-1 CC) by a score of 4-1 at Hayden Abney Fulp Field at Weisiger Stadium on Tuesday night. 
Roman De Leon scored in the 73rd minute for the Fleet.

THE MATCH
Converse outshot the Fleet 12 to 0 in the first half as they controlled the match and took a 3-0 lead into the break. The Fleet struggled to find rhythm going forward against a stout Converse team, who added a fourth goal in the 71st minute before 
Roman De Leon scored a consolation goal a few minutes later as Erskine was defeated, 4-1.
THE PLAYER
Roman De Leon tallied Erskine's lone shot of the match, but made it count, scoring in the 73rd minute for his first goal of the season.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Converse 23 to 1 and Converse had a 12 to 1 advantage in shots on target.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns home to take on out-of-conference rival Anderson University (3-6-3, 2-4-3 SAC) on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. for Senior Night. The Trojans won the rivalry match last season by a score of 4-0 and escaped with a 1-0 win in the last meeting in Due West back in 2019.
