KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Erskine College men's golf team continued their 2022 fall season at the Irish Creek Invitational, hosted by Wingate University, over the past two days.Â
Oliver Ulmo, behind a four-under par in Round 2, finished in second individually with a six-under par performance overall, two strokes behind the individual champion, Linus Jonsson of Lander. As a team, the Fleet finished in fifth place.

IRISH CREEK INVITATIONAL
- The 54-hole event, hosted by The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C. is a two-day tournament.
- The course played to a par of 71.
- The field consists of 15 teams along with 9 individuals, for a total of 84 participants.
CONFERENCE CAROLINAS FINISHES:
Belmont Abbey College (291-285-298=874 - 6th)
University of Mount Olive (300-285-296=881 - 8th)
King University (298-294-300=892 - 12th)
THE FIELD
Lincoln Memorial University claimed the title with a four-under par performance, earning them a 2-stroke victory over Lander. All five golfers who represented the Railsplitters finished in the top 27 individually in a balanced effort. Lander's Linus Jonsson won the individual portion of the event with an 8-under par 205 (69-69-67) to help the Bearcats earn a 2nd-place finish.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet continue their fall season in the McCoy Wright Currahee Collegiate Invitational, which they will co-host with Anderson University, on October 24 and 25 in Toccoa, Ga.
