BRISTOL, TN – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-16, 0-14 CC) traveled up to Bristol, TN to take on King University in a Conference Carolinas matchup. The Fleet fell into an 11 point hole to start the match, and despite a strong run, fell into a 14 point hole at the half. In the 3rd quarter, Erskine mounted a comeback, cutting the lead to 6 points going into the last quarter of play. In the 4th, the Fleet again fell into a hole, going down by as much as 13 points, but again fought back within 3 points. Erskine had the ball with the ability to tie the game and force overtime but were not able to convert on the final possession. The Fleet eventually fell 48-51.
THE PLAYER
Amaya Richardson led the Fleet with 14 points on 5-6 shooting and a strong 3-4 from beyond the arc.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 16-47 (34.0%) from the floor and was 8-19 (42.1%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 8-13 (61.5%) from the foul line in the game.
