THE SERIES
Erskine now holds a narrow 4-3-1 advantage all-time against the Lions and have won two straight against Emmanuel.
THE MATCH
Erskine dominated possession throughout the first half and tallied nine shots to Emmanuel's one but were unable to find a breakthrough the opening period as the match went into the half scoreless. The Fleet continued to control the match and were finally rewarded in the 60th minute when the ball ricocheted off an Emmanuel player to an open
Isaac White, who fired a half-volley into the side netting as he got Erskine on the board for the second consecutive week. Six minutes later,
Jordi Navio Sanchez broke away down the right flank and found
Dennis Cole, who's glancing header nestled into the back of the net to double the Fleet lead. Then,Â
Eythor Adalsteinsson sealed the Erskine win in the 74th minute when he buried away a goalmouth scramble from three yards out. The Fleet have now outscored their opponents 16 to 0 this season and are the only team in the Conference Carolinas to not concede a goal this year.
Â
MAN OF THE MATCH
Dennis Cole tallied a team-high five shots, two of which were on target, including a 66th minute goal that gave Erskine a 2-0 lead.
Â
THE TEAM
Erskine outshot North Greenville 18 to two and had nine shots on target to the Lions' two. Erskine also totaled a season-high 17 corner kicks in their convincing win on Sunday.
Â
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet wrap up a three-match home stretch on April 7 with senior night against Belmont Abbey College (2-7-1, 2-2-1 CC) at 4:30 p.m.
