THE SERIES
Erskine and Belmont Abbey now both have five wins all-time in the series, along with four draws. The Fleet have won each of the last two meetings, though.
THE MATCH
Erskine created a number of chances in the first few minutes of the match, the best of which being a
Dennis Cole first-time shot from just inside the penalty box, but Cole's effort went right at the Crusaders' goalkeeper. Despite outshooting Belmont Abbey, 11 to 6, the match was scoreless going into the half. The visitors closed the first half creating a number of chances and threatened Erskine's goal early in the second half as well. But, the Fleet withstood the pressure and eventually found a breakthrough. In the 56th minute,
Fernando Gonzalez won back possession in Erskine's attacking third and found
Isaac White making a run behind the Crusaders' defense. White's first-time shot hit the bottom of the crossbar and nestled into the right corner of the goal to give the Fleet a deserved 1-0 lead. Belmont Abbey responded well, but Erskine's defense, as they have all season, made the one-goal lead stand as the Fleet were victorious on Senior Day.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Isaac White scored the game's only goal, finding the back of the net in the 56th minute to give the Fleet their sixth consecutive win to start a shortened 2021 season.

THE TEAM
Erskine outshot Belmont Abbey 18 to nine and doubled the Crusaders' shots on target (six to three). Both teams had five corner kicks, and Erskine goalkeeper
Evan Zizek earned his fifth clean sheet of the season by tallying three saves.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet wrap up their regular season won the road at Chowan (5-1-1, 4-1-1 CC) on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Erskine will try to finish off a perfect regular season with a road win over the Hawks.
Chowan leads the all-time series 2-1 and beat the Fleet 4-1 in their last meeting in 2019 in Due West.
