THE SERIES
Erskine still leads all-time series 34-19 and has now won eight of the last ten meetings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: Barton opened the scoring with a run in each of the first two innings off Erskine starter Michael Kay as the Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead. In the top of the third inning, the Fleet got on the board as Cody Forster launched a solo home run to straightaway left field. Then in the fourth inning, Forster delivered an RBI single to tie the game moments before Erskine took their first lead on a Livan Reinoso double. The Fleet were not done in the frame yet as Dalton Boyd added a run-scoring double and Erskine led 5-2 after four innings. Barton answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and narrowed the Erskine lead to 5-4. Then, in the fifth inning, a Gregory Sanders RBI single doubled the Fleet lead. The next batter, Forster, reached on an error with two outs to extend the inning for Reinoso, who delivered the finishing blow, a line-drive, three-run blast to left center field as the Fleet extended their lead to 9-4. The Bulldogs scored twice in the sixth, but a Sanders run-scoring single finished a 10-6 win for Erskine in Game 1.

GAME 2: The Fleet offense stayed hot heading into Game 2, with a Boyd RBI single opening the scoring in the first inning. Tariq Bacon followed with a run-scoring double before Trevor Lesane was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded as Erskine jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. In the third inning, Lesane added an RBI double to push the Fleet lead to 4-0. Meanwhile, Erskine starter Harry Bernard was pounding the strike zone and mowing through the Barton lineup through the early innings. But, the Bulldogs rallied in the middle innings. Barton scored a run in fourth and fifth innings before a pair of errors gave the Bulldogs three more runs in the sixth inning and their first lead at 5-4. The Erskine bats were silenced by Barton relievers as the Fleet dropped Game 2, 5-4.

THE PLAYER
GAME 1: Livan Reinoso was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and five driven in, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

GAME 2: Dalton Boyd was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI single to start the scoring for the Fleet.
