DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine women's lacrosse team (0-4, 0-4 CC) dropped a home match with Southern Wesleyan University (2-4, 2-1 CC) 16-4 in their second home match of the season on Saturday afternoon at Huggins Field.

THE SERIES
After defeating the Warriors in the first two meetings, Southern Wesleyan has now won the last two leaving the all-time series set at 2-2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Wesleyan's Tabitha Beecher was the first to strike just over four minutes into the game. Beecher's goal was unassisted, though she would be credited with the assist in the Warriors' second goal at 17:57. Faith Flanagan scored both of the Fleet's first half goals. The first of which came at with 17:39 to play in the opening half to cut the Warriors lead in half and make it a 2-1 game. The Warriors led 8-2 at halftime. In the second half the Warriors scored the first five goals, before the Fleet countered with a free position goal off the stick of Aleiza Manns with 10:58 remaining. With just over five minutes to play, Flanagan found the back of the net to make it a 13-4 game. The Warriors hung for the 16-4 victory.
 
THE PLAYER
Faith Flanagan scored three of the Fleet's four goals. Flanagan was effective with her shot as eight of her 10 shots made it on goal.

THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot 40 to 17 and the Warriors held a 16-6 advantage in draw controls.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine hosts North Greenville University (1-4,1-2 CC) on Tuesday, March 16 at 3 p.m.
 
The Crusaders come to Due West on a five-game winning streak after the Fleet won the opening match of the all-time series in 2015.
