DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-11, 0-10 CC) was defeated by Converse College (5-8, 4-8 CC) 45-42 in Belk Arena on Saturday afternoon.

THE SERIES
Since the 2002-03 season, the Fleet control the all-time series 25-10. Converse won the season series against Erskine and have now won the last three meetings. Â
THE GAME
A total of 13 points were scored collectively after the first 10 minutes of play. Erskine responded in the second quarter by outscoring the Valkyries by six to take a 21-20 lead into halftime. The third quarter heavily favored Converse, however as the visitors tallied 19 points in the third frame to take a 39-27 lead into the fourth. The Fleet scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to make it a six point contest, but Erskine could not push forward any more, falling 45-42.

THE PLAYER
Megan Jones collected a team-high 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and 3-point range. Jones also added four steals and a rebound.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 13-43 (20.6%) from the field and was 9-32 (28.1%) from 3-point range. Both sides pulled down 43 rebounds with the Fleet leading 8-6 in steals.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet face a three-game week next week with two contests in Due West. On Monday Erskine hosts Emmanuel College (9-3, 7-3 CC) with tip-off set for 5:00 PM.
