THE SERIES
The last time the two squads met in Greenwood during the 2017-18 season, the Fleet swept the Bearcats outscoring them seven to two over two contests. With the split, Erskine has won eight of the last 10 against Lander although the Bearcats lead the all-time series 80-39.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: The Fleet scored two runs in both the first and second innings. To start, both
Kelci Brown and
Shi Cain drew walks and were driven in by a
Kyndall Chandler double. In the second, back to back doubles gave the Fleet a quick 4-0 lead. This time, Brown collected a two-base hit which brought in
Faith Belue who reached base via a fielder's choice. Then on the next at-bat, Brown was driven in by
Sydney McInnis who traded places on second base. For the middle three innings neither team scored, but the offense picked back up in the sixth. After a walk, hit-by-pitch and single loaded the bases, the Fleet nearly left the bases full when
Shi Cain popped up to make the second out. However, after a
Parker Birch two-run single and a Chandler single four runs crossed home and the Fleet held an 8-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. The Bearcats scored their only run of the opener off an error.
GAME 2: The Bearcats' bats responded from the game one defeat scoring three runs in the first and six in the second. Delaney Guerreo's grand slam in the second inning put Lander in control and the game out of reach for the Fleet. Erskine received its only offense of the night when
Sydney McInnis connected for a two-run home run in the top of the third.
THE PLAYER
GAME 1: Hannah Houge (2-0) once again went the distance and once again collected 12 strikeouts. This time out, Houge allowed only two hits and the only run allowed was unearned.
GAME 2: Sydney McInnis went 1-for-2 as she was responsible for both runs in the loss.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Â
First pitch is set for 1:00 PM against the Jaguars, a team the Fleet swept 1-0 and 4-0 during the 2018-19 season.Â
