DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-2, 0-0 CC) lost to Allen University (1-1) in Belk Arena on Monday night. The Fleet suffered from a slow start early that allowed Allen to take a controlling lead, and though the Fleet fought hard, they were unable to recover. Erskine competed for all 40 minutes and, although at times the score did not show it, the Fleet pushed a strong Allen team to their limits throughout the game.
THE PLAYER
Shanece Mitchell led the Fleet in scoring with 11 points. Mitchell also contributed 5 rebounds and 1 assist to the Erskine effort.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 11-51 (21.6%) from the floor and was 5-25 (20.0%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 11-19 (57.9%) from the foul line in the game.
