Erskine Men's Basketball | Fleet Drop Both Games at the SRC Challenge

MILLEDGEVILLE, G.A. – In the opening weekend of competition for the Erskine College Men's Basketball team, the Flying Fleet took on Limestone University and Georgia College, in back to back nights, at the Southeast Regional Conference Challenge.  The Fleet lost both games to start the season 0-2.

vs Limestone University (Final : L 74-80)
The Fleet kicked off their opening game of the season in Milledgeville, GA versus Limestone College.  Led by strong play from Sophomore Forward Kaleb Brooks, the Fleet went into half-time with a 39-38 lead.  To start the second half, Limestone came out firing, taking back the lead and pushing the Fleet into a 15 point hole.  The Fleet could not fight back from this deficit and ended up dropping their first game of the season.

vs Georgia College (Final : L 62-90)
Looking to bounce back and get one in the win column before the weekend was over, the Fleet matched up with Georgia College in their second match of the weekend.  After a slow start for the Fleet, the Bobcats jumped out to a 14 point lead about half way through the first half.  Erskine couldn't cut this lead to single digits before the half, trailing 22-34 at the break.  To start the second half, the Fleet found their spark, putting together a run that cut the Bobcat lead to just 6 points.  The Fleet fought hard, but the Bobcats built as much as a 29 point lead before eventually securing a 28 point victory.
