ANDERSON, S.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (0-9-1, 0-3-1 CC) was defeated by rival Anderson University (6-2-1, 2-2-1 SAC) by a score of 4-0 at Spero Financial Field on Wednesday night.

THE SERIES
Anderson now leads the all-time series 8-3-2, and Wednesday's sound victory ended a stretch of six meetings between the teams decided by one goal.
THE MATCH
In a first half where the Fleet managed their only two shots of the evening, it was the hosts who found the breakthrough in the 35th-minute when Alexandre Cox-Ashwood scored off a through ball from Agustin Ortiz to give Anderson a 1-0 halftime lead. The Trojans doubled their lead less than a minute into the second half on a Joao Martinho goal. Anderson added two more goals in the 66th and 79th minute from Tre Jackson and Ben Lemen, respectively.
THE TEAM
Anderson outshot Erskine 17 to two and had a nine to two advantage in shots a target.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet return to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon when they take on the University of Mount Olive (8-3, 6-0 CC) at Huggins Field at 12:30 p.m. The Fleet have a 7-2-2 advantage in the all-time series and have won three straight, including a 4-2 win in the last meeting in Due West back in October 2019.
