Erskine Women's Basketball | Fleet fall at Lees-McRae, 65-41

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-7, 0-6 CC) lost 65-41 at Lees-McRae College (4-3, 4-3 CC) in Williams Gymnasium on Saturday

THE SERIES
Lees-McRae now owns a 17-12 hold on the all-time series, and have won two straight in the series.

THE GAME
The Fleet were without leading scorer Osha Makerson, but got off to a better start than their previous two games. Erskine trailed 14-13 after the first quarter as Shanece Mitchell tallied six points in the game's first ten minutes. The Bobcats created some separation in the middle stages of the game, outscoring the Fleet by 20 in the second and third quarters and cruised to a home victory.

THE PLAYER
Mariah Corry had a team-high 9 points, hitting 3 three-pointers on five attempts and added in three rebounds for the Fleet.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot 13-49 (26.5%) from the field and 8-36 (22.2%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet got 25 points from their bench, but were held back by 36 turnovers, which Lees-McRae cashed in for 35 points.

WHAT'S NEXT 
Due to a postponement, Erskine will have five days off before returning to action with a back-to-back on home against Mount Olive (3-3, 3-3) on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. and then Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
