DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-8, 0-7 CC) lost 57-34 to the University of Mount Olive (5-3, 5-3 CC) in Belk Arena on Thursday night.

THE SERIES
The Trojans are now 17-3 all-time against Erskine and have won three straight in the series with the Fleet's last win being a 73-69 home victory in February 2019.
THE GAME
The Fleet and Mount Olive played a close opening 10 minutes, despite Erskine being without leading scorer
Osha Makerson for the second straight game. Mount Olive led after the first quarter, 12-11. Erskine got three triples in the quarter from three different players as
Anzya Cook,
Amaya Richardson, and
Megan Jones all found the target from long range. But, the Trojans outscored the Fleet 20 to 5 in the second quarter to take a 32-16 lead into the half. Mount Olive's defense picked up the intensity in the second half as the Fleet scored just nine points in each of the final two quarters, and a 14-3 run by the visitors sealed the game.
THE PLAYER
Megan Jones scored a team-high nine points off the bench for Erskine as she connected on three three-pointers in eight attempts.Â
THE TEAM
The Fleet shot 26.5% from the field, and were 7-26 (26.9%) from beyond the arc. Erskine turned the ball over 22 times which the Trojans turned into 19 points.
WHAT'S NEXTÂ
The Fleet and Trojans play again tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. back at Belk Arena in Due West, S.C. This is the first back-to-back the Fleet play this season.
