Erskine women's lacrosse traveled to Tigerville, SC, to take on Conference Carolinas opponent North Greenville University on Wednesday afternoon. NGU took the game 17-6.
Five of the Fleet's six goals came in the first half, with
Breanna Seawell being the first player to find the back of the net for Erskine. Her goal came just over eight minutes into the game and just over one minute prior to
Faith Flanagan adding another goal for the Fleet.
Katie Schlagenhauf and
Brittany Smith also contributed to the Fleet's offense within the next two minutes, before Schlagenhauf put one more in goal before the half. Early in to the second half, Schlagenhauf once more got past the NGU defense to put another point on the board for Erskine; this goal would prove to be the last one the Fleet would score, and NGU would take the game 17-6.
Schlagenhauf led the Fleet with three goals on just four shots. Smith and Flanagan would each take three shots on the game, each scoring one goal, and Seawell's one shot found the back of the net.
The Fleet will remain in Conference Carolinas play and host Emmanuel on March 18 at Huggins Field.
