In the final day of the Bearcat/Fleet Invitational, the Fleet dropped each of their games, falling 5-0 to Young Harris and 4-2 to Tusculum.
vs. Young Harris : Young Harris methodically built their lead over Erskine, scoring one run in every inning, with the exception of the first and fourth innings. The Fleet had their chances, but were forced to close out mulitple innings with players left on base, unable to bring them in for a run.
Allison Neeley was able to hit a double to left center in the bottom of the 7th to give the Fleet was last chance. but the game closed with her and
Shi Cain left on base. Young Harris took the game 5-0.
vs. Tusculum : The first inning was promising for the Fleet in their game against Tusculum, when
Kelci Brown was able to hit a single to left field and then subsequently steal second base.
Parker Birch followed in her footsteps with a single of her own; Brown advanced to third but ultimately got picked off and the Fleet were forced to leave Birch on base. Erskine wouldn't earn a run until the bottom of the seventh which proved just enough to push the game to extra innings. But after giving up three runs in the top of the eighth,
Faith Belue's single that brought in a run wasn't enough and the Fleet dropped the game 4-2.
The Fleet will travel to Augusta, GA on February 18th to play a double header.
