KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Fleet women's soccer team fell to Warner University 2-0 in their pool play opener in the 2020 NCCAA Tournament on Wednesday.

THE SERIES
Erskine and Warner had never met for an official contest prior to tonight.
 
THE MATCH
The 4^th seeded Erskine Flying Fleet conceded twice in the first half against 6^th seeded Warner University and could not recover in their NCCAA opening match. The Royals began the scoring in the 24^th minute when Lexi Garcia found the back of the net and Emma Marshall doubled their lead with a 36^th minute goal. The Fleet were outshot 10 to 6 and only managed one shot on goal. Erskine goalkeeper Cheyenne Fuller played the entire match and tallied a game-high six saves.
 
WHAT THE RESULT MEANS
The Fleet fall to 3^rd place in their group and will need a win by at least three goals in tomorrow's match against top-seeded Grace College to advance to the knockout rounds.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine takes on the one-seeded Grace Lancers, who hold a 9-3-1 record and are the Midwest Region representatives in this year's NCCAA Tournament. Grace opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over Warner on Tuesday.
 
Kickoff time is set for 5:00 P.M.
