Box Score Due West, SC – Erskine women's volleyball began their season on the right note with a commanding 3-0 win against Bob Jones University on Thursday night.
After a delayed start to the season, the Fleet showed no signs of rust in the opening set. Junior
Katy Torgerson tallied five kills and a career-high five service aces in the first set alone as Erskine took it 25-20.
The Fleet built on that momentum, and freshman Mackenzie Kinne's five kills in the second set helped Erskine hold off a late Bob Jones rally to win the second set 26-24.
In the third set, Erskine used an early 9-0 run to take the lead and an 11-2 run late as four service aces from Kinne wrapped up the three-set sweep of the Bruins.
Torgerson had a game-high 14 kills, six service aces, and four blocks to lead the way for the Fleet. Senior
