Due West, SC - Erskine scored a late second-half goal to defeat the University of Alabama in Huntsville 1-0 Friday afternoon in their season opener.  

Neither team would be able to score in the first half, with neither side having many opportunities to put the ball in the goal.   In the 74th minute, Devyn Cabral would find a streaking Maddi Cole who would drive a shot by the Charger keeper to give the Fleet the lead.  Junior Keeley Marchant, making her first career start in goal would make several crucial saves down the stretch to help preserve the victory.  She would finish the game with six saves to record her first shutout.
