Wilson, NC – Erskine held on to defeated Barton 8-5 Friday night in the opening game of a three game Conference Carolinas baseball series.   
 
Nick Vella was 2-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two runs driven in to lead the Erskine offense. Drew Yniesta was 2-2 with a run scored and Justin Fox was 2-4 with an RBI.  Zack Bowers (4-1) picked up the win allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out eight in six innings.  Zach Farmer (1) recorded the save allowing one run on three hits and striking out four in three innings of relief.
