Due West, SC – Erskine split a Conference Carolinas double header with North Greenville Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders won game one 5-2 and the Fleet answered by winning game two 4-3.
Game One
Cory Everett was 2-3 with a home run and RBI to lead the Fleet offense, while
Xander Vizzcorando was 2-3 with a double and run driven in.
Nick Vella,
Kyle Heiss, and
Noah Huthmaker each had one hit for Erskine.
Alex Calvert took the loss allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out six in seven innings.
Game Two
Drew Yniesta was 2-4 with a double and two RBI's, while Vella was 3-5 with a run socred to lead the Fleet offense. VIzzcorando was 2-3 with a double and drove in the go ahead run in the eighth. Heiss finished the game 2-5 with a home run and RBI.
Zach Farmer (2-0) picked up the win throwing one scoreless inning in relief and
Trey Watts (2) recorded the save with two strike outs in 1.2 innings of work.
