Due West, SC – Erskine rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat Mars Hill 2-1 in overtime Tuesday afternoon in their home opener.
In the 15
thminute, Julia Johnson would find the back of the net to give the Lions the lead. Mars Hill would hold that lead until the 60
thminute when freshman
Marissa Miltko scored her first career goal on a free kick from 30 yards away. Neither team would be able to score through the final 30 minutes and the game would head to extra time. Just under three minutes into overtime, freshman Vivian Gonzalez would find the back of the net on a cross from
Maddi Cole to end the game and give Erskine the win.
Sara Dooley made three saves in goal to pick up her first win of the season.
