Belmont, NC-    Conference Carolinas Commissioner Dr. Alan Patterson presented the 2018 Alan Sharp Award for Academic Excellence to Erskine College on Monday night at the conference's annual Milestone/Legacy Awards at Belmont Abbey College. Erskine Director of Athletics Mark Peeler accepted the award given to the Conference Carolinas institution with the highest academic performance success rate.

"I am honored to accept this award on behalf of our remarkable student-athletes and coaches who value the academic rigors of Erskine while balancing the time demands of their sports. Combining academics and athletics in a Christian community helps nurture the development of the whole person. Our association with Conference Carolinas allows us to pursue 'The Fleet Way' with like-minded institutions striving for 'champions in body, mind, and soul.' It is a pleasure to be involved with Flying Fleet Athletics and Conference Carolinas every day," remarked Peeler. 

Conference Carolinas is a twelve-member conference affiliated with NCAA Division II. Erskine College has been a member of Conference Carolinas since 1993.
