Burlington, NC – Belmont Abbey hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Crusaders a 10-7 victory over Erskine in the opening game of the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship.  
 
Chaz Davey was 3-5 and Austin Mapes was 2-4 with a home run and two runs scored to lead the Erskine offense.  Trevor Wood finished 1-4 with a double and three RBI's and Nick Vella was 1-3 with a home run and two runs driven in.  Alex Calvert (1-1) took the loss allowing four runs on three hits and striking out seven in 4.2 innings of relief work.
 
The Fleet will play the winner of the #1 North Greenville vs. #6 Limestone game tomorrow at 3:00 pm.
