DUE WEST-- Freshman Katie Cauble scored at the 26:24 mark for the game's only goal as Erskine defeated rival Anderson, 1-0, at Huggins Field on Wednesday afternoon. The win was Erskine's first over Anderson since 2009 and gave the Fleet a 2-1 lead in the coveted Beville Cup chase between the two schools. Cauble's goal was assisted by senior Ani Miller-Wells on a beautiful lead pass to the right edge of the goal. The Trojans pounded out 15 shots on the afternoon compared to Erskine's six attempts. Junior Abby Schmidt had a solid outing in goal, making nine saves on the afternoon while picking up her first shutout. Erskine improved to 5-6 with the win.
