Bristol, TN – The Flying Fleet split their two matches in the King Invitational for the second straight day. Erskine lost to Lincoln Memorial 3-1 in the first game but rebounded to sweep Newberry 3-0 in the second match.
Kristen Dodge was also named to the All-Tournament team.
In the first match, Lincoln Memorial would take a 2-0 lead, but the Fleet would respond to win the third set 25-20. The Railsplitters would then hold off Erskine 25-22 in the fourth set to clinch the win.
Dodge had 46 assists to go along with eight digs, while
Payton Duncan had 13 kills with 11 digs.
Marissa Greenough had 12 kills, while
Kendall Kirk finished with a team high 16 digs.
In the second match, the Fleet would dominate the first two sets winning 25-14 and 25-16. Erskine would win a tight third set 25-23 to complete the sweep to take the win.
Four different players had at least five kills, led my Greenough and Duncan who each had seven.
Sami Harting and
Marissa Mayfield had six and five respectively. Dodge has 24 assists and Kirk had 11 digs.
