Erskine earned its second sweep in the last two matches on Tuesday night with a victory over King, as the Fleet defeated the Tornados for the second time this season.
The Fleet were led by Senior, Mike Michelau with 21 kills and also added 7 digs and 2 blocks. Senior, Neal Stanley had a career first double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs. Senior, Omar Melendez was a dominant in the middle adding 8 kills and ending the match with a .538 hitting percentage. As a team, the Fleet ended the match hitting .263 with 53 kills.
The relentless defense by Michael Schneck, 13 digs, and several others held the King offense to only .178 on the night. Erskine had a total of 47 digs and 7 blocks to King's 33 digs and 10 blocks. David Grandy led the offense dishing out 44 assists.
Senior, Neal Stanley stated, "I thought we played collectively as a unit and executed our game plan despite a solid effort from King."
The Fleet will end their conference schedule on the road Friday night as they travel to Belmont Abbey. First serve is set for 7pm.
