Wilson, NC - The Erskine Flying Fleet would fall in set one to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey, but would bounce back to win the next three sets and advance to the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Finals.  The win means that the Fleet will have a chance to defend their tournament title from a year ago.

The Fleet and Crusaders would combine for 18 hitting errors in the first set that would result in a 25-23 win for the Crusaders.  After that, the Fleet would handle the Crusaders in the second (25-18) and third (25-14) sets, before coming up with a narrow victory in the fourth and deciding set, 26-24.

Payton Duncan paced the Fleet registering a double double with a team high 15 kills and 17 digs.  Marissa Greenough and Sami Harting also had 13 and 12 kills for the Fleet respectively.  Kristen Dodge dished out 43 assists while Kendall Kirk led the Fleet with 19 kills.

The Fleet, who were the No. 1 seed in the South Division of Conference Carolinas, will try to defend their tournament title tomorrow afternoon at Barton College in Wilson, NC at 3 pm.  They will face the winner of a game currently in progress between the No. 1 seed from the North Division and host, Barton College, and the No. 3 seed from the North Division King University.  To find information on the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Tournament as well as live stats and video for tomorrow's game, go to http://bartonbulldogs.com/sports/wvball/2016-17/2016_WVB_Conference_Tournament/index.
