The Erskine men's volleyball team was unable to grab an advantage over the Lewis University Flyers as the Fleet fell in straight sets (21-25, 14-25, 17-25) to conclude their 2
nd weekend on the road in Illinois.
The Fleet keep the first set close the entire match and even tied the Flyers at 16-16 with a service ace by
Neal Stanley and then were back and forth until Lewis took the momentum at 21 to win the match.
The Fleet struggled at the beginning of the 2
nd & 3
rd set and could never gain the momentum they needed to stop the Flyers.
The Fleet were led by
Mike Michelau who posted 12 kills, 2 aces and 4 digs.
Omar Melendez had 6 kills and 3 aces with the help of
David Grandy who posted 20 assists.
The Flying Fleet (1-3; 0-0) play at home February 2
nd at 7pm as they kick off conference play as the pre-season 2
nd ranked team in Conference Carolinas.
