Due West, SC – The Erskine Women's basketball team continued their stellar play of late defeating Converse College 72-64 in Belk Arena. The victory marks their fourth win in the last five contests.
The Fleet got off to a slow shooting start in the first half, shooting 20% from the field and only scoring 23 points.
Myranda Parham continued her hot play of late scoring 12 of the Fleet's 23. The Valkyries scored 30 in the first half on 38% shooting.
The Fleet came out roaring in the second half forcing 7 straight empty trips for the Valkyries and going on a 10-0 run.
Myranda Parham had another spectacular half offensively, scoring 9 points to go along with her first half 12.
Kristin Giles had a great game scoring 17 points and pitching in 4 steals.
Raygon Hendrix scored 14 points and led the Fleet with 7 rebounds.
Russ Gregg's team had another solid second half performance in this contest outscoring Converse 49-34, and he attributes that to experience. When asked about his team's success this season in the 4
th quarter, Coach Gregg praised three specific juniors. "We have

Naomi Stuger and Kristen Giles that really keep us together down the stretch. Their experience helps us to not get rattled in crunch time."
The Fleet look to continue their hot play when they take on the Crusaders of North Greenville this Wednesday in Belk Arena. Game time is set for 5:30 P.M.
