GAFFNEY, SC - Erskine Women's Volleyball continued their Conference Carolinas weekend on the road on Saturday at Limestone College and won the last 3 sets to win the match 3-1 over the Saints. The win improves the Fleet's overall record to 6-5 and more improtantly, there Conference Carolinas record to a perfect 4-0.
The Fleet once again responded after an early match set back. Â The 1st set feature a back and forth battle, but the Saints eventually prevailed 26-24. Â Coach Vahjen's team responded in the 2nd set registering a .407 hitting percentage in the set to win 25-17. Â The Fleet would then go on to win the 3rd and 4th sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-20 respectively. Â Overall, Erskine out-performed the Saints .257 to .131 in hitting percentage. The Fleet also registered 10 service aces in the win. Â
Kristen Dodge led the Fleet and stuffed the stat sheet with game high 38 assists, 10 digs, and 7 kills. Â
Kelly Sullivan and
Payton Duncan led the attack for Erskine collecting 16 and 9 kills respectively. Â The 16 kills by Sullivan were a game high and her season high as well.
Kendall Kirk provided the Fleet with numerous oppotunities by registering 32 digs, which ties her season high. Â Â Â Â
The Fleet return to Belk Arena on Tuesday night to continue their Conference Carolinas schedule as they face the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College. Â Game time is set for 7 pm.
