AUGUSTA, GA - The Fleet traveled to Augusta University to take on the Jaguars in a late non-conference match and came away with a 3-2 victory extending their overall winning streak to an impressive 15 games and improving to 19-5 overall.
The Jaguars provided a stiff test for the Fleet as they move towards their final regular season match and the Conference Carolinas tournament. Erskine would respond to win a pivotal 2nd set, 30-28, after falling in the first set 25-21, and follow that up with a 25-19 win in the 3rd set. The Jaguars would bounce back with a resounding 25-14 win in the 4th set, but the Fleet would eventually prevail 15-13 in the decisive 5th set to win the match, 3-2.
Kristen Dodge, who was recently named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, once again performed well finishing just short of her 3rd straight double-double with 55 assists, 9 digs, and 6 kills.
Payton Duncan finished with a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Kelly Sullivan,
Marissa Greenough, and
Sami Harting would finish with double digit kills for the Fleet, and Sullivan would also contribute 6 blocks.
Kendall Kirk paced the Fleet defensively with 25 digs.
Erskine will close out the regular season and look to finish off a perfect Conference Carolinas record this Thursday at home against Emmanuel College at 7 pm.
