Due West, S.C. – Pfeiffer handed the Flying Fleet their fifth consecutive loss, clipping Erskine 6 to 3 in Conference Carolinas men’s tennis action at the Erskine College Tennis Complex.
Erskine fell behind 2 to 1 following the three doubles matches. Freshmen
Dean Harris (Benoni, South Africa, Christian Brothers College) and
Alan Pearce (Greenville, SC, Mauldin High School) defeated Luis Vallalta and Stephen Miller 8 to 4 at their #2 doubles position to secure the Fleet’s first point.
In the six singles matches, Erskine could only pick up two more points, losing the match 6 to 3.
Wilson Mathewes (Greenville, SC, Mauldin High School) and Pearce topped their opponents in straight sets at #2 and #4 singles.
Erskine plays their last conference match this Saturday at home against North Greenville University starting at 11:00 a.m.
