King gets past Erskine 3-0

Box Score Bristol, Tenn. – King University slipped by the Erskine Flying Fleet tonight 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 26-24) in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action.

All three sets were not decided until late. In the first set, the Flying Fleet grabbed an early lead, highlighted by three kills by Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School). King rebounded to tie the set at 14-14 and held off the Fleet to win the set 25-21 by winning the final two points.

The second set mirrored the first with the Fleet holding a slim two point lead. King again regained bounced back to take the lead and stretched it to five points to win the set 25 to 20.

After surrendering the first three points in the third set, Erskine rallied to take a three point lead at 15-12. At that point, King scored seven unanswered points then held off the Fleet to win 26-24.

Bullock finished with her sixth double-double of the season with 10 kills and a team-high 13 digs. Freshman A.J. Campbell (Pilot Point, TX, Pilot Point HIgh School) also had another solid performance with 7 kills and 11 digs.

Summer Kremer led King with her own double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs while teammate Olivia Underwood finished with 27 assists and 11 digs.

Erskine slips to 8-14 overall and 7-8 in conference while King remains atop the conference standings at 12-1 in conference and 23-4 overall.

Erskine stays on the road going to Pfeiffer University on Saturday.
