Box Score 2 Due West, SC – The Erskine Women’s Volleyball Team dropped two games today in the University of Minnesota-Duluth Classic Volleyball Tournament. In the first match of the day, Erskine lost a five set match to Bemijdi State University 22-25, 25-12, 28-26, 19-25, and 14-16. Erskine lost their afternoon match against #19 ranked Ferris State in straight sets (25-20, 25-15, and 26-24).
Senior
Lauren Stewart (Hartwell, GA, Hart County High School) had a huge game against Bemijdi State knocking down knocking down a career-high 23 kills. Sophomore
Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) also continued her stellar play with 18 kills and 5 digs while senior setter
Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) just missed a triple-double with 8 kills, 44 assists and 8 digs. Senior libero
Brooke Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) had an excellent match on the backrow logging a game-high 21 digs.
Bemijdi State’s Bethany Thompson recorded an impressive “double-double” with 24 kills and 12 digs.
Stewart and Bullock again led the Fleet offensively with 11 kills each against #19 Ferris State. Bullock also had a team-high 8 digs while Steward added 6 digs along with 2 blocks.
Anne Sutton led Ferris State with 18 kills while teammate Aly Brecht contributed 11 kills and 9 digs.
Erskine travels to Augusta State University on Tuesday before returning home for their home and conference opener against Barton College on Friday. Friday’s game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
