Box Score 2 Augusta, GA- The Erskine Flying Fleet saw their four game win streak with a pair of losses at the Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta State University at the Christenberry Fieldhouse. Erskine lost to Francis Marion University in their first game 3-1 followed by a 3-0 decision to Augusta State University.
Erskine hurt themselves in the first match against Francis Marion University committing 27 attack errors for a .115 hitting percentage and 12 service errors. Defensively, Erskine played well, holding the Patriots to a .172 hitting percentage while recording 7 team blocks and 53 digs.

Lauren Stewart (Hartwell, GA, Hart County High School) had a game-high 12 kills along with 3 digs and block to lead the Flying Fleet. Senior setter
Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) recorded her ninth “double-double” of the season with 32 assists and 11 digs. She also had four kills. Senior
Brooke Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) anchored by back row with 17 digs while sophomore
Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) had an excellent defensive game at the net with 4 blocks.
In the second game, the Fleet struggled against the taller Jaguars of Augusta State University. In a rare event, the Jaguars had more blocks than the Fleet, 6-4, while hitting at a .358 percentage. Stewart again led the Fleet with 12 kills while Bullock had 10 kills. Senior defensive specialist
Bailey Thornton (Pauline, SC, Dorman High School) had 7 digs to lead the Fleet on the back row while Chabra had 3 of the team’s 4 blocks.
Erskine wraps up their regular season with a 5-game home stand starting this Tuesday night against the Valkyries of Converse College. The Fleet need to win just two of their last four conference matches to clinch the first seed of the Western Division for the conference championship tournament.
