Anderson, SC – Anderson University defeated Erskine 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, and 25-23) in non-conference women’s volleyball action tonight at the Abney Athletic Center.  With the loss, the Fleet slip to 5-5 overall and Anderson improves to 3-7.

Sandra Campbell (Pilot Point, TX, Point Pilot HS) led the Fleet with a game-high 16 kills and Jamie Murray (Hermann, MO, Hermann HS) added 9 kills.  Junior Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) had 31 assists and 8 digs from her setter position while libero Brooke Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) led the team with 10 digs.

Shannon Gillespie led the Trojans with 13 kills and 5 digs while Megan Cautero had a solid all-around game with 5 kills, 26 assists and 8 digs.

With tonight’s victory, Anderson takes an early 2-0 lead for the Beville Cup.

Erskine opens conference play this weekend as they host St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Friday at 7 p.m. and Coker College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
