Charlotte, NC – Erskine fell to Queens University 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 16-25, 25-23) at Ovens Gymnasium in the semi-round of the Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament.
The loss brings the Flying Fleet’s 2011 campaign to a close at 19-15 overall and 13-5 in conference. Queens advances to the championship game on Sunday against Lees-McRae College, who defeated King College 3-0.
Senior
Sandra Campbell (Pilot Point, TX, USC-Upstate) and junior
Liz Massey (Greenville, SC, Eastside High School) led the Fleet with game-high 14 kills each. Massey also finished with a team-high 15 digs for her first “double-double” of the season. Fellow junior
Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) also earned a “double-double” from her setter position with 35 assists and 13 digs.
Queens was led by Lindsey Everhart and Keri Kemp with 12 and 10 kills respectively. Taylor Riley earned a “double-double” for the Royals with 16 assists and 14 digs.
Queens had a .266 hitting percentage while Erskine hit at a .182 percentage.
