Belmont, NC – The Erskine women’s volleyball team extended their win streak to six games behind a career-high 20 kills by senior
Sandra Campbell (Pilot Point, TX, USC-Upstate) to beat Belmont-Abbey 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-18) in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball action at the Wheeler Center.
It was another complete game for the Fleet both offensively and defensively. Offensively, Erskine hit .386 while holding the Abbey to just .074. In addition to Campbell, fellow senior
Jamie Murray (Hermann, MO, East Central CC) had 14 kills with just 2 hitting errors for a .429 hitting percentage. Defensively, the Fleet amassed 7 blocks along with 47 digs.
Brooke Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) had a stellar performance on the back row with a game-high 19 digs while Campbell helped controll the net with 4 block assists. Setter
Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) had a 3-set season-best of 43 assists. The Fleet’s lone weakness came at the service line where the Fleet committed 5 errors but did have 6 service aces, two each by Chabra and
Liz Massey (Greenville, SC, Eastside High School).
Erskine travels up the mountain today to Banner Elk, North Carolina, to play the conference-leading Bobcats of Lees-McRae College. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
