In 2025-26, Auten enters his sixth season at Erskine and his first as the Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations & Broadcasting.
 
Auten spent his first year in Due West as the Assistant Sports Information Director, the next two years as the Sports Information Director before being promoted to an Assistant AD role prior to the 2023-24 year, a role he served in for two years before being named an Associate AD. He has also been the play-by-play “Voice of the Fleet” for all five years at Erskine, broadcasting baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and volleyball, in addition to his roles in the Sports Information department. He has also been a play-by-play broadcaster for the the last three Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournaments and is a current member of the Sportscasters Talent Agency pf America (STAA).
 
Prior to Erskine, Auten graduated from Texas Christian University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Broadcasting. During his time at TCU, Auten was involved in the radio broadcasts for a nationally ranked Horned Frog baseball program as a board operator, co-producer, color analyst and gained some experience in play-by-play. He also spent a pair of summers as a broadcast play-by-play intern, working for the Asheboro Copperheads (Coastal Plain League) in 2019 and the Carolina Vipers (Southern Collegiate Baseball League) in 2018.
 
After graduation, Auten accepted a position as the Broadcast Intern for the Charleston RiverDogs (A, Tampa Bay Rays) for the 2020 season. However, the season was canceled due to COVID-19 and Auten joined the Flying Fleet in July of that year.
 
Auten was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended nationally recognized Academic Magnet High School. He currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
