Shannon Reid was named head women's basketball coach on July 1st, 2017.
Reid comes to Erskine after serving as the head coach at Brevard College from 2008-2016, where she won 50 games including a victory over Division I UNC-Asheville. While at Brevard, she recruited and coached one NCAA Division II All-American, four 1,000 point scorers, three All-SAC performers, and the All-Time leading scorer in program history.
Reid is no stranger to Conference Carolinas (formerly Carolinas Virginia Athletic Conference), as she played at Pfeiffer University from 2000-2003 and graduated with a B.A. in Sports Management. While playing for the Falcons, she was the 2003 Pfeiffer University Athlete of the Year, as well as a two-time Most Valuable Player, CVAC Conference Player of the Year, four-time All-Conference, scored 1,000 career points, and led the Falcons to their first NCAA tournament appearance. She will also be inducted into the Pfeiffer University Hall of Fame in September of this year. Following graduation, Shannon played professionally in Drogheda, Ireland in 2003-2004.
