Alex O'Quinn

Alex O’Quinn enters his fourth year as the assistant coach/hitting coach for the Flying Fleet.  As a team, the Fleet have seen significant improvement in their offensive statistics under Coach O’Quinn’s instruction.  During his tenure, the Fleet have rewrote almost all of Erskine’s single-season and career hitting records, most notably batting average, slugging percentage, doubles and home runs.   He has coached two All-Americans, three All-Region players, Conference Player of the Year, Conference Freshman Player of the Year, and numerous other All-Conference recipients.

Coach O’Quinn was a pitcher on the Flying Fleet Baseball Team and upon graduation in May 2010 held the Erskine record for fewest walks.  He was also the recipient of baseball’s Alex Lewis Award, recognizing the baseball player who most exceeds expectations.

Coach O’Quinn is married to Katee Knapp O’Quinn, an All-American softball player at Erskine.  They are expecting their first child, a boy, shortly.  They reside in Abbeville, South Carolina.
