Gender in Equity Policy and Report
The Erskine Department of Athletics is committed to providing equitable opportunities for student-athlete participation and encouraging diversity and inclusion within all sports programs. Erskine Athletics is also committed to cultivating a workforce that facilitates a supportive environment for all employees (administrative staff and coaches) volunteers and officials to be treated fairly and with respect.
To that end, the purpose of this policy is to provide equality and fairness in all our relationships with employees and student-athletes. Our goal is not to discriminate on grounds of gender, marital status, race, ethnic origin, color, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age, pregnancy, class or social background and political belief. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.
In order for this policy to be successful, it is essential that everyone is committed to, and involved in its delivery. Our goal is to work towards a just society, free from discrimination, harassment, and prejudice. Our effort is to embed this into all of our policies, procedures, day-to-day operations and in all relationships.

· To provide equitable and fair distribution of overall athletics opportunities and ensure resources are available to women’s and men’s sports programs.
· To cultivate an environment in which student-athletes individual differences and contributions to their respective teams are supported and valued.
· To cultivate a practice, training and competition environment that promotes responsible sportsmanship, dignity and respect to all. No form of intimidation, bullying or harassment will be tolerated.
We will review all aspects of the sport programs operations and procedures on a regular basis to ensure fairness.
The director of athletics will have the ultimate responsibility for implementation and oversight of all departmental gender equity plans.
